Dear all,
The 2010 UKNHCP conference will be held on Saturday 18th September in Berkshire.
The location will be the Bird in Hand: www.birdinhand.co.uk and there is a special rate for UKNHCP delegates staying there - you can book via this link.
The conference will follow a similar format to 2009, with several speakers throughout the day on topics including latest hoofcare research, barefoot-friendly livery yards, more on saddlery from Lavinia Mitchell, who was so great at the 2009 meeting, and much more.
We will finalise the timetable nearer the time so if anyone has any burning issues they want to see covered, please PM Chris Thompson, on here, who has nobly volunteered to organise the whole thing - thanks Chris!
Tickets will be the same sort of price as last year, and will include lunch, tea and coffee, with the usual early-booking discount, but we will put full details of the cost and how to book up here shortly.
Tickets cost £30 for UKNHCP members and friends before 1st August, £40 thereafter. Non UKNHCP members cannot book until after 1st August at £40 per ticket, subject to space being available.
Cheques should be made payable to UKNHCP Ltd and sent to :
Clearways,
Colley Way,
Reigate,
Surrey,
RH2 9JH
Rooms should be booked directly with the Bird in Hand:
The Bird in Hand Country Inn
Bath Road
Knowl Hill
Reading
Berkshire
RG10 9UP
It is probably best to make the initial contact by phone and when making the booking quote UKNHCP to get the conference rate of £50.00 instead of the usual rate of £80.00 B&B.
The format will be similar to this years conference with Coffee on arrival, session 1, coffee, Session 2, lunch (Lunch is included but there will be a cash bar.) Session 3, coffee, session 4. and then the AGM. The details and content of the sessions are being worked on.
It is hoped that in addition to these there will be two optional sessions:
1. A saddle fitting clinic with Lavinia at a nearby yard, possibly either BCA or the Cliveden Stud - a donation may be suggested for this to cover her costs
2. An opportunity to see a real mustang's feet. As some of you know, my horse Brego is a Spanish Mustang, and was born on the range in Wyoming, he has never been shod so his feet do not look right to some people. Mark and Nic have met him so they will be able to advise whether they think this would be worthwhile.
