I've been using them for a month now and I'm liking them. They create a soft, sand bed that's absorbant and odour free.

Price wise, perhaps £15 more expensive than LWP, delivered.

I've heard rumours that straw pellets last longer, so that's why I've trialled them.

They compare to wood pellets, however they seem to be staying lighter longer and kick up a bit of dust when mucking out (however, I should point out that I have a severe dust allergy and asthma and cannot use normal straw - but I haven't even sneezed with these).

The bottom of the bed clumps into a base very quickly, so they would be ideal for a concrete/earth base, although I'm using them on rubber mats and the are fine.
The top is very soft and comfortable, Obi lies down each night.

At this point the jury is out as to whether I'd choose these or LWP again as I'm equally happy with both, so it would be whomever offers me the best deal.

A tonne of LWP lasts my two, dirty, heathens, 3 months in winter. If the straw pellets last longer - then I'll be happy.

This is the quote I got a while ago

½ Tonne (pallet) 15kg bags = £120.00 + VAT + Delivery
1 Tonne (pallet) 15kg bags = £195.00 + VAT + Delivery

Bulk Bags are as follows

500kg sack = £90 + VAT + Delivery
1 tonne (2 x 500kg sacks) = £150 + VAT + Delivery

Delivery to Blackpool was £32.

The bed a month later. Still happy with the pellets.

Not dusty but the bed is nice and dry, the pellets are lasting and there is no odour.

The bed forms a solid base, with a soft sand on top. I'm finding that annoying as I am keen on digging the bed every day. It would be ideal for earth/concrete floors and for deep litter beds.

I have neither but either way the bed is comfy. I just need to stop digging everything and leave it alone

'Space hopper bladder' horse is still happy to stay out 24/7, so the true test has yet to come when he comes in.

The bed, 5 weeks on. 'Space Hopper Bladder' still refusing to come in at night, so the true 'winter' hasn't really started yet

It's still the Arab in his bed;)
Dirty

and clean:)

I've put 3 bags down in the last 5 weeks to keep the opulent depth

I took delivery of my first batch on Friday and already am voting a big thumbs up - thank you Sez  Very Happy

Much easier to handle than straw, makes a really absorbent base and smells wonderful  Cool Think it will work out pricier than straw but way cheaper than hemp or miscanthus...Fingers crossed!

am still watching and waiting until your wet horse comes in.  I have a very very wet mare who is currently on straw as she is disgusting on shavings.

Lol. I know. I keep asking him if he wants to come in, and he just puts his ears back and wanders away, avoiding eye contact Laughing
