Anyone fancy Somerford on Wednesday?Anyone fancy a whizz around Somerford on Wednesday? I'll be going pretty fast and jumping everything to get Radar fit for a hunt on Saturday. Leaving at eleven probably. I could bring Jazz for you to ride if you can give me references that you can stay on - he can turn on a sixpence, stop on a pinhead, prop like a rugby forward and pull like a train .

Pull a sickie! No, seriously, I really look down on people leaving their colleagues in the lurch like that. But if you take a week off at home some time, give me a shout because I'm short of friends who are happy to go fast!

Hi Caroline
Unfortnately, I am far too responsbile nowadays to pull a sickie... I've turned in to my mother!!
Next time I have some spare days I'll send you a message to see if we can meet up.
Does somerford close in winter?
I do like going at a fast reasonable working pace cross country.. nothing better... especially with someone like you who competes at a higher level than me, it will give me and Pie courage to follow on!

No, Somerford is open all year round now with an all-weather farm ride with loads of jumps on. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat fun!
Let me know when you're free.

Oooooooooooooooooh you all missed a treat. 50 fences, 6 miles all but 3x5 minutes walk done at rolling canter. Two of the full time grooms there have now unshod their horses because of seeing mine turn up week in week out and stomp across the rubble carparks and paths. We had such fun!

STOP telling me how much fun you've had when I'm stuck in Mancheser City Centre!!!!!! It's just tooooo unfair.
That sounded like a very good interval training session
I had a look on the website it looks fab, I've never been to Somerford Park... brilliant news about all year round... will definitely be contacting you to see if we can meet up and hoon round together.

Why don't we have anything like that 'up north'?!!

Nic

Surely it IS "up north" Or is that just by Devon standards?

Bec n Rebs: It's not that far from you.. I work in Mancheser but live near Haworth..
Easy for you from Huddersfield on the M62 to Congleton... take you about 40 minutes.
You also have Craven Country Ride at Skipton, similar type thing which isn't too far from you.
Nic: Yes, it's still "up North" but you are almost on another contient you're that far South!!! so will seem a muchly long way from you.

That is definately "Up North", It looks like half way between Stoke on Trent and Manchester to me.

New member alert!
I'd be up for a whiz round Somerford in the not too distant future - I don't jump but can canter alongside as a good fitness work out for my endurance horses. Unfortunately Ii'm a bit incapacitated at the moment but give me a few weeks to heal up and I'm right there
