Date for you diaryNo doubt you have all by now got your 2010 diaries, or refils for the filofax
So here is a date for you to put in there, so you can keep it free.
Saturday 18 September.
So why you ask so I need to keep this day free? Simples (as the meerkat in the advert would say) that is the date of the 2010 annual meeting.
Those of you who were at the 2009 meeting last september will remember that Nic "kindly" volunteered me to organise the 2010 meeting.
Now I have chosen a location - it is a countryhouse hotel that has won awards from CAMRA for its real ales, has good lager, and good bar and restuarent food (The bar has a better atmosphere in my opinion).
If you are curious here is their website http://www.birdinhand.co.uk/
The also have refurbished their bedrooms, and will give a UKNHCP discount to conference delegates. They have quoted me a room rate for delegates of £50.00 (normally £80) this includes breakfast & VAT. You will need to quote UKNHCP when booking to get this rate though
This is not a formal announcement of the meeting, that will come later, but is just a heads up so you can put it in your diaries and if, you want to, book a room.
I also want to float a couple of ideas to see what you think.
Is anyone interested in seeing a real mustang's feet? We would have to limit numbers as I do not want to freak him out with 30 people descending on him all at once.
At the 2009 meeting Lavinia Mitchell's talk on saddle fitting was, for me at least, a real highlight. Whilst it would be good to have her do something at the 2010 meeting, she has rightly pointed out that most people will not want to hear the same talk again. So I was wondering if there would be any interest in a saddle fitting clinic at one of the local yards on say Friday afternoon or Sunday morning, if this could be arranged.
