can only speak for myself, but I have fed them for years with no problem. our biggest issue seems 2 b mould inhibitors.

Yes, oats are fine - by far the safest cereal and horses love them  Just don't feed too much per feed, and introduce gradually, as with anything.

I always found Link went a bit loopy with the normal oats - but did really well on the whole oats like the Tiger oats.
We have a local farm Craigforthie where I get oats for very little when I need them - and I just get them whole as they come. I think he likes the chewiness. Once they are crushed I think the flavour goes and the oils go off quickly.
