Paddock Paradise picture fest !!Hqve just put a few pics of my PP on my blog. It may help those of you setting up. Its not that pretty, we have no pea gravel but as it has been in use for 2 years the muddy bits dont tend to get deep. Its all that pounding with those bare feet !!

Really inventive, love it. I especially liked the snow one you put up a few weeks ago.
I have been experimenting with "donut" shapes. With five acres to play with, all belonging to someone else so can't change any surfaces (oh how I was pleased when I finally got the fully five acres to myself  ) it's a lot of fence moving, but very satisfying. It means I always have the "hole" to use as a school. It will take time to establish. I have put pea gravel in one gateway which feeds into a paddock belonging to non-horsey owners who don't mind, and the lame one has spent many hours standing on it. Once he's working there won't be any need for hard standing, but just at the moment it would be perfect to have some like your old milking parlour. I'm also fortunate, like you, to have lots of hedges and trees dotted around the field, which make great boundaries and shelters, and nibbling spots!
The one bit I am going to struggle with as the weather closes in is where to feed the hay. The farmer will only deliver one bale at a time as he doesn't want any feed stored on the field  so it is stored on the path outside. Once the muddy season hits I'll be struggling to soak and transport hay with my little wheelbarrow along the same area each day! never mind, might lose those extra few pounds (I mean stones obviously).

Tell my about soaking hay in the winter - its is just awful 
My 2 mostly eat down that long stuff in the middle in winter so only have small amounts to soak.

Oh fab!! That looks brilliant. Hera has also perfected the tilty-head movement to get the green stuff under the fence

I dont know much about paddock paradise but ohh I am jealous, it looks great!

Thanks guys. As I said doesnt look too pretty in the depth of winter though. Mud, mud glorious mud !
