Pumpkin Seeds

Has anyone any experience of feeding pumpkin seeds to their horse, and their effect on tapeworms?  Friend's horse ejected huge one after eating pumpkin seeds!

OOhh sounds interesting.  I heard that grated carrot was good as a 'wormer' !!  Why grated and not chopped I didnt ask !!  I must admit to using a chemical tapewormer once a year  Sad

Yes, I always have before, and have been trying for the last week to get a single dose chemical one without success, and so being a bit freaked out by all the amazing "coincidences" going on at the moment regards this horse, and due to his compromised system, I'm just exploring!

Tried them on the herbal one this morning with some rosehips and Total Eclipse, but they won't eat it, both are standing in the field with curry flavoured powder round their muzzles which they are trying to rub onto anyone who comes near!  Will try adding mint this evening.  It's a bit tricky when they are having no "feed" to add it to.  If I can get it into their system it will be a good experiment as the pony has a high tapeworm count.

Will try pumpkin seeds as well, unless I discover they can have a detrimental effect.

I dont know where you are in Dorset, but I am in Devon and got my Equitape  (tapewormer only Praziquantel) in Mole Avon I think in Axminster ?

Shaftesbury, so tried my usual tack shop in Wilton, and SCATS in Gillingham.  There are another two tack shops, Sturminster Newton and Wincanton I can try, but as my local feed farm shop had the Verm-X this morning, and I have POTS of money after the last few months of veterinary investigations, changes in feed, etc etc, I though why not?

Every now and then my OH sighs and says "I remember the day you sat in our kitchen and said there's a 2 yr old where I work, and he will only cost me £20 a week...." Wink
