Trailer Hunting.... need to borrow....I know this is a long shot... and a bit cheeky....
But.... is there anyone in my area (South Wales, Newport, Gwent) who has a trailer I could borrow for a couple of days...?
I've been offered a lovly place for Roma to live... albeit a bi too 'grassy'... it's lovely and peaceful and quiet, rather than the fishbowl he is in now... the problem is it's about 3 miles away.... I know he could walk it easy.... but he hasn't been on a road ever... he's walking/leading ok in the field... but I don't feel it's worth the risk along a busy road through the town.... even though it is a small town...
I could hire one.. but this gets expensive for more than one day and ideally I'd like him to get used to the idea over a couple of days rather than it being a 'its here and you have to get in it now' job, like last time....
At the moment I have a vehicle that will pull one... but I won't have that soon... so then I'd be looking for someone to actually do the driving as well.... hmmm.... don't want much do I!
I'm possibly just being neurotic... and hiring one will probably end up being the answer.... but I'd much rather have more 'time'....
If someone fancied a weekend in damp wales.... I could provide basic to crap accomodation....
..... can you see the straws I'm clutching at.....

hmmmm.... you have a point....
What about....
Come and explore a little visited corner of Wales... cavort amongst the rain drops, whilst you peruse the many and varied shops of Newport Town centre.... (while your trailer is being inspected by his royalness)...
Then enjoy the unique blend of flavours of the fine fare that will be provided by your very greatful hostess... combinations of, beans, or spagettii and toast, or the finest potatoes in various forms.... including boiled, jacketed or mashed...
An audience with his Royalness.... and a special exciting exclusive day trip to escort his Royelness to the new royal accomodation where you will be the guest of honour and supplied with flask tea and possibly some custard creams....
Later you will be waited on by his Roylnesses personal assistant again and provided with another of the excuisetly humble yet fine meals of the house... including possibly potatoe and leak soup... or nettle soup... or maybe a real welsh chippy supper.... to be eaten in the ambient atmosphere 'the house'... which has a classical blend of modern and old features... The interior is again, one of a kind... decorated in the older style, 'just about to do it again' look... and sports a unique dog hair carpet.... which interestingly changes on a daily basis... The building currently has the added interest of scaffolding..... and the unique (for the area) extra long grass and interesting weeds and overgrown shrubs of the garden.... which you are of course at liberty to wander (albeit not recomended just after the ogs have been out...)
Your sleeping area will be warm and hopefully comfortable.... consisting of either a proper bed (subject to daughter moving a muntain of 'stuff' of it...) or a sofa... with the optional extra of a Staint Bernard living quilt.... or Weivaranna duvet....
You will be invited to choose your evenings entertainment from pleasent discussion... watching tv.... groaning at the awful jokes and performances of the resident 13yr old comedian... or a night out in Newport City centre where hopefully your hosts daughter will be working in one of the bars and we can go and make a nuisence of ourselves....
You would be welcome to stay as long as you wished... although after 2 nights the house tradition of 48 hours and you are no longer a guest and you have to take your turn making tea etc applies... Your host would be so grateful to you that she would proabably extend this by at least a further 12hrs....
All this... in return for a little borrow of a trailer or horsebox! Who could resist now!!!!

It's only 111 miles!!! and a straight road at that....
What if I throw in a guided tour of Big Pit.... the local mining musium... (and only dry place to go at this time of year... ) and promice to leave the hot water turned on so you can have hot showers....

Love it!
My parents won't even visit my home during the winter, the only time they did my Dad refused to get out of his car until he'd put plastic bags over his shoes to protect them from the muddy track..I'd TOLD them to bring their wellies...
I think it's a good idea to have the trailer for a few days if pos., although after your sales pitch I think hireing one is going to be your only option!
