I am looking for great hay in North Wales - I am currently buying mine from local feedstore and its OK but just wondered if anyone knows of supplier who has really good hay or haylege
I have been advised to soak hay 15-20 mins or to find a high fibre, low energy late cut haylage with less than 7% sugar

Sue,
I am 5 mins away from Sarah's so very close to you. I have some unfertilised haylage I will be selling from my crop this year, however, it is large round bales and will need collecting from the field. I could arrange transport for you but depending upon how many horses you have they may be too big?

There is a guy near Whitchurch who sells great hay, meadow stuff which is fertilised only by sheep in the winter. You need to collect it yourself but he is the best and most consistent I have found in the area.
I used to take my trailer and collect about 30 a time. He'll store as many as you want if you pay up front and then you just go and collect it as you need it.
If you want the number pm me.

Thanks to you both - I fear tbig bails of haylage will be too big at least for the time being. Small bails better so will investigate the Whitchurch stuff I think.
